Skybox

Replaces the overworld sky with a customisable one

The sky is drawn by a shader that works from the direction you're looking, so it has no seams however you colour it. It replaces vanilla's sky colours, sunset glow and stars, and vanilla's own sun and moon, phases and all, are still drawn over it. The stars follow the time of day the same way vanilla's do, turning across the night, and rain dims the sky and hides the stars. Only the overworld sky is replaced; the Nether and the End look as they normally do.

Style

What fills the sky on top of its colours.

  • GRADIENT: just the zenith, horizon and ground colours
  • AURORA: shimmering curtains of light across the upper sky, brightest at night
  • NEBULA: drifting clouds of coloured gas, with denser stars
  • GALAXY: a band of the galaxy across the sky with a dark dust lane, with denser stars

Zenith color

The colour straight above you.

Horizon color

The colour at the horizon. The sky blends from here up to the zenith colour.

Ground color

The colour below the horizon, seen when you look down past the edge of the world.

Follow daylight

Darken the sky at night and brighten it by day, following the sun.

Night brightness

How bright the sky colours stay at night, from 0 (black) to 1 (as bright as day). Only visible with Follow daylight on.

Match fog

Fade distant terrain into the horizon colour instead of vanilla's fog colour, so the world blends into the sky. Only applies in open air; water, lava, blindness and darkness keep their own fog.

Hide clouds

Stop drawing clouds while the skybox is on.

Sun

Show vanilla's sun.

  • Sun glow sets how far the halo around the sun spreads, and how strongly the sky around a low sun warms up at sunrise and sunset
  • Glow color sets the colour of that halo and warmth

Moon

Show vanilla's moon.

Stars

Draw stars, which fade in as the sun sets.

  • Star color sets their colour
  • Star density sets how many there are
  • Twinkle makes them flicker gently
  • Stars by day keeps them out during the day too

Aurora

Only visible with Style set to AURORA.

  • Aurora color is the colour at the bottom of the curtains
  • Aurora top color is the colour they fade to at the top
  • Aurora intensity sets how bright they are
  • Aurora speed sets how fast they ripple

Nebula

Only visible with Style set to NEBULA.

  • Nebula color and Nebula second color are the two colours the clouds blend between
  • Nebula intensity sets how bright they are
  • Nebula speed sets how fast they drift

Galaxy

Only visible with Style set to GALAXY.

  • Galaxy color sets the colour of the band
  • Galaxy intensity sets how bright it is
  • Galaxy tilt sets how steeply it crosses the sky, in degrees
